Global Youth Tobacco Survey Launched This Year

Smoking and synthetic drugs have pervaded our society. Our youth is particularly affected by the two scourges. The Ministry of Health will launch a survey this year to determine the extent of the effects.

A Global Youth Tobacco Survey will be launched soon by the Ministry of Health, announced Minister Anil Gayan on January 28. It will focus on young people falling in the age group 13 to 15 years old.

A preliminary study was conducted back in 2011 by the ministry, the World Health Organisation (WHO), and the Centre for Disease Control, Atlanta, all of whom will participate in the new study as well.
